Community Bridges

Brookings-Harbor School District’s alternative education program is Community Bridges (formerly known as OPTIONS).

Vision: BHSD 17C is the educational leader providing supplementary academic support for the community through its Community Bridges Alternative Education Center.

Mission: Serving the diverse educational needs of Brookings Harbor School District students by providing supplemental curricular support for middle school students in mathematics and other identified core subjects, high school students in need of more support to earn credits so they can graduate, young adults as they work to earn a high school completion credential (GED), and home school students who want to take foreign languages and other specialty subjects.

Guiding Principles: BHSD 17C provides comprehensive educational programs at each grade level in the traditional school buildings. Azalea Middle School, and Brookings Harbor High School is where BHSD 17C students receive their comprehensive educational services, including special education, physical education, art and music. The Community Bridges Alternative Education Center is available to middle school students, high school students, home school students and young adults by providing specific supplemental academic services that will enhance students’ learning experiences and meet their diverse learning needs. Students and families may access the Community Bridges Alternative Education Center’s various programs by working collaboratively with teachers, school counselors and building administrators to determine their supplemental educational needs.
