We (the students in Room 47) tested whether cabbage juice is an acid or a base using vinegar, 7-Up, baking soda solution, distilled water, and of course cabbage juice.
We noticed that the vinegar turned light red, distilled water stayed the same color, baking soda turned a bluish greenish, lemon juice turned a neon pink, dish detergent turned green and 7-Up purple. If the item stayed the same color it would be a base and if the color
changed, like the vinegar, it is an acid.
