Feb. 17: Student Exclusion Day for Incomplete Immunizations

The immunization exclusion date for our schools is February 17, 2021.

It's time to make sure that your student's immunization record is up-to-date. Important immunization exclusion dates are coming up for the Brookings-Harbor School District.

The immunization exclusion date for our schools is February 17, 2021. On and after that date,  students with incomplete records will be excluded from both in-person and online school until the requirement is met and the school district is provided documentation showing that it has been met.

Reports are submitted to the local health department in January each year, listing students who have an incomplete immunization record. Immunization records are due at student registration, and students with missing records receive repeated mailings and notices. The district sent two letters to families with incomplete records last fall, and the Curry County Health Department also sent a final notice on Feb. 3 to families with incomplete immunization records for their student(s).

Immunizations can be obtained at Curry Community Health, or your child's primary doctor's office.

Those who choose not to immunize their students must complete a two-step process.

They must complete an online course and provide the District Nurse with a certificate that is obtained after completing the course, and they need to come to the school and sign the backside of the Certificate of Immunization Status and complete the Non-Medical Exemption portion.
