BHSD will host a Summer Foods Celebration from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, July 3. The event will include an “All-American Burger Bar,” southern dill potato salad, salad bar, and sliced watermelon.
All kids ages 1-18 eat FREE! Adults can enjoy the meal for just $3.75.
Special activities and games will be hosted by the school district. There will be food, activities, and information booths for all to enjoy. At 11 a.m. we will have an unveiling of the new retrofitted school bus that our students have dubbed the “B.O.B” or “Bite of Brookings" and celebrate the students who designed, named and built the bus in partnership with many community partners.
The bus will make four stops daily Monday to Friday to serve lunch beginning the week of July 8 and continuing until Aug. 2. The planned stops are:
11:30 a.m. to 11:45 p.m. - Harbor Rural Fire Protection District, 98069 W. Benham Way, Harbor
11:50 a.m. to 12:05 p.m. - RE/MAX Coast & Country, W. Hoffeldt Lane, Harbor
12:10 to 12:40 p.m. - Kemp Auto Sales (South Entrance), 16365 Old U.S. Highway 101, Harbor
12:45 to 1 p.m. - Chetco Community Public Library, 405 Alder St., Brookings
In addition, the Brookings Harbor Community Helpers Emergency Food Bank will provide “snack packs” on Fridays for program participants to take home for the weekend.
