Knowledge Bowl Gets New Grants, Hosts Chili Cook-Off

Our National's bound Knowledge Bowl Team continues to uplifted with incredible community support this spring.

On March 18, the Brookings-Harbor High School Knowledge Bowl Team received a $1,000 donation from local organization Indivisible 97415 to help with travel and educational costs to attend the NAQT Small Schools National Championship Tournament in Chicago, May 3-5.

And, last week on April 3, the Knowledge Bowl team was presented a $400 grant from the Brattain Family Student Enrichment Fund of the Wild Rivers Community Foundation to help fund the trip.

This past weekend on Sunday, April 7, the team hosted a successful chili cook-off and raised an additional $2,000 in funds for the program this year and into the future.

The undefeated Bruin Knowledge Bowl team qualified for both the Overall High School National Championship (Atlanta, Georgia, May 24-26) and the Small Schools National Championship (Chicago, Illinois, May 3-5) during a statewide regional meet hosted at Brookings-Harbor High School on Jan. 26. The team is excited to attend the Small Schools National Championship, as the top-ranked team representing Oregon next month. The team thanks all the individuals, businesses and organizations that have helped them with donations and grants large and small to attend the national quiz bowl championship.
