Celebrate “Take Me to Rio” Homecoming Week Sept. 22–27

Brookings-Harbor High School (BHHS) will celebrate its annual Homecoming Week from Monday, September 22 through Saturday, September 27, 2025, with the theme “Take Me to Rio” selected for the annual dance. The week-long tradition will feature spirited dress-up days, athletic events, community gatherings, music, and student-led celebrations.

Spirit Days

High School students showcase their creativity and Bruin pride during themed dress-up days:

  • Monday, Sept. 22 – Dress as Your Class (9th: Kids, 10th: Teenagers, 11th: Adults, 12th: Senior Citizens)
  • Tuesday, Sept. 23 – BBQ Dad vs. Soccer Mom Day
  • Wednesday, Sept. 24 – Anything but a Backpack Day
  • Thursday, Sept. 25 – Decades Day (9th: 70s, 10th: 80s, 11th: 90s, 12th: 2000s)
  • Friday, Sept. 26 – Blue & Gold Day

Additionally, Azalea Middle School and Kalmiopsis Elementary School also host concurrent Spirit Weeks with their own dress up days. There are door decorating contests and pep rallies planned.

Featured Events

  • Powder Puff Football Game – Wednesday, Sept. 24, 7:00 p.m., SOCOMI Sports Complex
  • Float Decorating Night – Thursday, Sept. 25, 6:00–8:00 p.m., BHHS Bus Barn
  • Pep Assembly and Noise Parade – Students will enjoy an in-school pep assembly, followed by the Noise Parade. The parade will start at approximately 2:25 p.m. onFriday, Sept. 26 and loop through the district and downtown before ending at SOCOMI Sports Complex parking lot
  • Homecoming Football Game – Friday, Sept. 26, 7:00 p.m. vs. St. Mary’s (Medford), with a halftime coronation ceremony.
  • South Coast Invitational Marching Band Clinic. This year, Homecoming coincides with another special event - our BHHS bands will host a special clinic Saturday, Sept. 27, 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m., featuring performances and collaborative workshops with visiting schools including Del Norte, North Valley, and Douglas. Stop by the stadium at 1 p.m. to view exposition performances of all bands.
  • Homecoming Dance, “Take Me to Rio” – Saturday, Sept. 27, 8:00–10:30 p.m., BHHS Gym. Tickets are $10 for singles, $17 for couples.

Homecoming is a highlight of the school year where our entire community comes together to celebrate our students, our traditions, and our Bruin Pride. We hope to see our families and the community out throughout the week to cheer on our students.
