Registration Information
- August 3: Online registration opens for returning students. Log in to the PowerSchool Parent Portal, select “Forms/Enrollment,” and complete the required forms.
- Families who have already completed registration forms for an incoming kindergarten student do not need to register again online.
- August 3: School secretaries return to the office. Office hours will be 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
- August 12: New student registration will be available at Kalmiopsis Elementary from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
- August 20: The Parent Portal closes for student scheduling. Once scheduling is complete, families will be able to view their child’s classroom placement.
Back-to-School Dates
- August 31 and September 1: Soft Start days. Each student’s teacher will contact the family to schedule an appointment to meet with the student and parent or guardian.
- September 2: All students attend. Classrooms open at 7:50 a.m., and students will be dismissed at 1:10 p.m.
- September 3 and 4: Regular school days, 7:50 a.m. to 2:55 p.m.
- September 3: Community Night, 5:30 to 7 p.m. in the Kalmiopsis gym.
- September 7: Labor Day, no school.
- September 8: Picture Day.
School Hours and Meals
All students are eligible to receive free breakfast and lunch while at school. Breakfast is served in the cafeteria from 7:30 to 7:50 a.m. Kindergarten students eat breakfast in their classrooms beginning at 7:50 a.m.
Regular school hours are:
- Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday: 7:50 a.m. to 2:55 p.m.
- Wednesday: 7:50 a.m. to 1:10 p.m.
Students are considered tardy if they are not in class by 8 a.m.
Volunteers Needed
Do you enjoy reading, writing, helping with art, science or gardening projects, or joining students on field trips? Kalmiopsis needs you!
Anyone interested in volunteering during the 2026-27 school year should visit the district website and begin the required paperwork. Approved volunteer forms are valid for two years. Contact the Kalmiopsis office to learn more about ways to help.
