Welcome to Brookings-Harbor Online Academy!

This is Mrs. Shanon, and I'm your students' online educator. This year, I look forward to meeting new students and welcoming back my students from last year, along with laying out the plan for the educational journey we will take together.

Orientation Meeting

I will be holding Student Orientation meetings on Tuesday, August 26th to review schedules and the BHOA Handbook, along with discussion of what you can expect. This will be a virtual meeting in Google Classroom. Expect an invitation in your (student and parent) email by Monday the 25th. Parents are encouraged and welcome to attend. The BHOA Handbook is available on our district website under Schools and Programs. Please take a look at it before our meeting, and bring any questions you have to our meeting. If you are unable to attend, please let me know and we can plan for another time.

Kindergarten through 5th grade beginning at 9:00 AM

6th through 12th grade beginning at 10:00 AM

Chromebook Distribution 

If your student needs a Chromebook, they are available for pick up beginning Monday, August 25 at these times: ~AMS students can pick up at the Azalea Library from 2:00-4:00 in the afternoon. ~BHHS students can pick up their Chromebooks at the High School library from 12:00 - 3:00. Also, please stop by and let Sandy in the office know you are in the building ~Kalmiopsis students can come to K-School to pick theirs up. Lastly, if you have a Chromebook from last year, please bring it in along with the charger, so our Tech Dept can clean it, and they can issue you a fresh one. If you can not make these times, please call Alana at the High School or Gloria at the Middle School and make other arrangements. 

Nutritional Program 

The district's nutritional program is accessible to our online community. Breakfast and lunch are free for all enrolled students. Let me know if you're interested and I'll tell you more about it. Don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or concerns. If you believe your student has been placed in the wrong program, please reach out to your student's school counselor to make changes. I am looking forward to working with you and my students! It's going to be a great year.
